This is a A-106 Galvanized Steel Schedule 80,  2"x 20' Pipe with a Plain End.

Seamless Pipe. Used for high temperature service. Pipe Ordered under this specification shall be suitable for bending, flanging and similar forming operations, and for welding complies with ASTM A-106 GRADE B.

ASTM a106 grade B is a mild steel pipe material that is commonly used in industrial plants, power refineries, gas refineries, power plants, boilers, ships, and chemical plants. ASTM a106 grade b deals with piping that is used with high-temperature services. ASTM a106 grade B is very popular among clients because it is right in the middle of the two grades. It offers that strength to transport that high-temperature fluid and gases but it is not used for as heavy projects as grade C.

Coated in zinc, galvanized steel pipes are protected from oxidation and rust, which ultimately prevents deterioration of the pipe. They are a great option when you need to protect your steel pipes from a corrosive environment. The protective quality of galvanized pipe is created through a hot-dipping process, where the zinc then provides a protective layer that will rust away before any of the steel is affected. In terms of durability, a galvanized steel pipe can last well over 100 years, depending on the amount of corrosion exposure.

Galvanized pipe maintains a wide range of benefits, suitable for use in highly corrosive environments. The semi-smooth, zinc finish of galvanized steel pipe provides a layer of protection that is not seen in other types of protective materials. The galvanized coating process protects the underlying steel from encountering corrosive elements that could deteriorate the steel and ultimately weaken its structural integrity. Main advantages of galvanized structural pipe include:

  • Protects against corrosion and rust
  • Increased structural longevity
  • Overall enhanced reliability
  • Affordable protection
  • Easy to inspect
  • Less repairs
  • Rugged toughness
  • Easier to maintain than standard painted pipes
  • Protected by advanced ASTM standardization
