The acquisition of Rite Way Ornamental Products (Florida Operations) helped launch Orange Steel and Ornamental Supplies in the state of Florida

S&P starts fabrication of PVC Fencing Products, on a 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse
2005
The Vidal Family owns and operates six stores in Puerto Rico under the Steel and Pipes Company, the biggest steel fabrication shop in Puerto Rico and one company in Florida
2005
S&P targets the welding and industrial gases market in Puerto Rico
2006
Our seventh store opens in Las Piedras
2007
The Industrial Gases Division starts distributing oxygen, acetylene, nitrogen, helium among other gases
2009
S&P starts selling and distributing Rebar
2009
Our tenth store opens in Río Grande
2010
After a 5-year hiatus, S&P starts on Structural Steel Fabrications and Erections
2011
Our refrigeration division, Refricool, starts distributing LG and Quül Air Conditioner units
2012
Scorpion brand name is developed and under that name S&P distributes welding machines, welding equipment, welding helmets, locks, latches and much more
2014
S&P acquires Mateco, a rebar fabrication facility with over 30 years in the market, making its way into the rebar fabrication market in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean
2015
Distribution of Miller Welding equipment and consumables begins
2017
In September, Hurricane María made landfall in Puerto Rico destroying the island's entire power grid and causing severe structural damage, driving S&P to the aid and reconstruction of Puerto Rico
2019
The Steel Tanks Division is created introducing S&P into the fabrication and erection of Steel Tanks
2021
Historic sales are reached in the Puerto Rico and Florida market due to the Federal Aid and stimulus given due to the COVID-19 pandemic
1979
Steel and Pipes, Inc. was founded by Felipe Vidal Cos at its current main location in Caguas
1989
Our third store opened in Guayama
1996
The acquisition of Rite Way Ornamental Products (Puerto Rico Operations) brought the incursion of Ornamental Iron sales in the company
2001
The Structural Steel Fabrication shop building, which occupied 20,000 sq. ft., moved to a newly built facility with 85,000 sq. ft.
2004
A 40,000 sq. ft. Distribution Center in Caguas is built, facilitating the distribution of steel to stores and customers
2005
The Structural Steel Fabrication Division is sold (formerly known as S.P. Fabrications, Inc.) making Steel and Pipes to create a five-year growth plan into segments related to the Retail and Construction Industry
2006
The Welding Division starts with the support of Lincoln Electric, ESAB, Victor and others
2007
Our eighth store opens in Quebradillas
2007
S&P becomes an official distributor, in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, of Red-D-Arc® welding rentals
2009
Our ninth store opens in Ponce
2010
S&P acquires the distribution, in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, of Richards-Wilcox® and Chamberlain® garage doors and operators.
2011
A new 35,000 sq. ft. Fabrication Shop is built in Caguas
2011
The S&P Rewards Program is created and under this program the company rewards the loyalty of our customers and members
2013
Storm Security Shutters manufacturing and distribution begins
2015
Steel and Pipes of Florida, LLC. is founded and opens a 30,000 sq. ft. distribution center in Miami, Florida covering the Dade and Broward Counties
2016
The Home Products division is created under a new corporate structure: Fencing Division, Garage Doors Division, Storm Security Shutters Division, and other home improvement products are consolidated
2018
Construction of a second Steel Distribution Center began with a 50,000 sq. ft. warehouse and 20 tons traveling cranes
2020
In March, COVID-19 became a worldwide pandemic, pushing S&P to develop new protocols to continue operating in a safely manner to protect employees, clients, and business opportunities
2021
Metal Deck an Aluminum Storm Panels manufacturing begins

The words that clearly define Steel and Pipes current trajectory in the industrial market are diversification and legacy. Founded by Felipe Vidal Cos in 1979, Steel and Pipes has become one of the leading companies in its market, solidifying its offerings by being able to provide their customers with the necessary materials, equipment, or services to carry out their projects.
CERTIFIED WARRANTY SERVICE CENTER FOR:
In 2015, Steel and Pipes, Inc. established a plan to diversify and expand operations in markets other than Puerto Rico. To achieve this, a separate entity was created under the name of Steel and Pipes of Florida, LLC and started operations in November 2015 in Miami, Florida. The goal is to establish operations in the following Florida cities: Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville.
Currently we operate on a 45,000 sq. ft. warehouse facility and an outside storage area of approximately 1/2 acres. We service the Broward and Dade County Areas.
